Fabian von Spreckelsen

The work of Fabian von Spreckelsen is inspired by his constant interest in the relationship between the urban world and the uncultivated living space. His works represent a deep fascination for the relation between the human being and the natural features that surround him.
In order to visualise the beauty and power of the fauna in its stylised form, the artist analyses the line of force of the various shapes of the fauna and flora, and thus creates geometrical abstractions. The welded steelworks of his exhibition “Trophies” showcase life-size animals, that on the one hand express the power of the animals, and on the other hand recall the evanescence and vulnerability of nature.

Studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Maastricht.
Lives and works in Maastricht.
