Nico Sawatzki

Nico Sawatzki comes from Street Art. Its multilayered structure and simultaneous deconstruction of layers of paint creates difficult, imaginary spatial constructions that create an enormous depth effect through compression and dissolution on different image levels.

With breaks in perspective, exaggerated colourfulness and consciously disturbingly staged shadow or light sources, he leads the viewer back and forth into a misleading situation. The artist thus creates areas of tension, which are calmed down in the next moment by clear surfaces and shapes. Nico Sawatzki drew the attention of renowned art institutions to his work very early. He is represented in numerous private collections.
